Erwin and Verna Reilzammer, postmaster at Arkansas City, Desha County, Arkansas, inspect one of many pear trees planted around the courthouse grounds (1655.12). As part of a beautification project, 1,001 pear trees were planted on the grounds and for a five-mile stretch along Arkansas State Highway 4. The United States Post Office, one of many buildings located on Main Street, faces the Desha County Courthouse (1655.01, 1655.02, 1655.04, 1655.06, 1655.09).
