Andre was at this time a prisoner, apparently on parole. He had been captured at St. John's on 11-3-1775. He sends money to Schuyler for a John Williams, whom had been given a counterfeit note by Andre. Andre was later executed as a spy in connection with the treason of Benedict Arnold.
