Folder listing.The Annuity Board (Relief and Annuity Board) of the Southern Baptist Convention was established in 1918 for the purpose of making provisions for the economic security of Southern Baptist pastors and their widows in old age. William Lunsford served as the first executive secretary of the Annuity Board. The Board's programs have expanded through the years to meet the retirement, health insurance and life insurance needs of church employees and denominational workers. The Annuity Board is located in Dallas, Texas.The records include the annual printed reports (1919-1980), the reports to the trustees (1953-1983), audit reports (1925-1984), the files of the three earliest executive secretaries of the board - William Lunsford, Thomas J. Watts, Walter L.
