The Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention was organized in October, 1964 after four years of work and study by a regional missions committee. The convention was organized with 50 churches. The first issue of the "Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Witness" was published in January, 1965.
The collection consists primarily of photocopies of early records and documents related to the formation of the Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention. The collection includes a short history of the convention by E.W. Hunke, Jr., programs, form letters to the regional missions committee members, minutes of the committee (1960-1964), and various publications related to the convention.
