Sabin photographic collection, 1870-1972.
Photographic prints, negatives, films, documents, and ephemera of Verne and Nonie Rhoads Sabin of Union City, Tennessee and Raymondville, Texas. The Sabins operated photography studios in Union City, 1919-1924, and in Raymondville, 1924-1935. The collection includes images produced by the studios as well as family and personal photographs. Subjects include various locations in Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Mexico, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.; members of the Fox, Karweil, Nelson, Miller, Ralph, Render, Rhoads, Sabin, Taylor, and Yeats families; post-World War I Europe; the Sabin's daughter, Lela Sabin Karweil, who was often used as a model in their photography work; and World Wars I and II.
