Elisabeth "Betty" Aikman White, a resident of Bloomsburg, Pa., attended the Pennsylvania State College, 1911-1915, from which she graduated with a degree in liberal arts, specializing in modern languages.
The collection consists of 34 pieces of ephemeral materials: souvenir pin, Centennial celebration 1802-1902, Bloomsburg, Pa., 1902; one invitation to camp cookery class, Wed., May 19 [1909]; dance card with pencil, Senior Dance, Bloomsburg State Normal School, 1911; six tally cards for bridge games, 1912 and undated; a love poem; Valentine card with envelope, 1912; a handmade Valentine with mirror and a separate paper with reverse writing, with envelope; one Christmas card with envelope, 1914; three postcards, 1915; six visiting cards (two of White's, four from friends); poem about Bett's whistle, with a tin whistle (mfg. by C.H. Mathieu, Paris); one Christmas poem with nine paper dolls; two diploma badges (R of H); quiz booklet with pencil on ribbon.
Penn State-related materials include: one dance card atached to a 1909 postcard; Columbia County Club of Penn State College banquet programs, 1909 and 1911; two Pennsylvania Day dance programs, one from Alpha Delta chapter of Kappa Sigma and one from Phi Tau Fraternity (Penn State chapter of Delta Upsilon), 1910; one invitation to a YWCA reception, 1911.
