Collection consists of correspondence, clippings, and other material related to Mildred Cresswell, a prominent member of the Republican Party in Colorado during the mid-twentieth century. Born in Kit Carson, Colorado, Cresswell attended the University of Denver where she majored in political science. She worked in the office of the Quartermaster Corps at Lowry Air Force Base during much of World War II. She was very active in the Republican Party, and served as the secretary of the Colorado State Senate for 12 years. In 1966 she won election to the Colorado House of Representatives.
