Schellhous, a manufacturer of plain and fancy wool cloth, cassimeres, tweeds, blankets, and flannels, writes to Enos Brown & Co. to enclose price lists from two teasel growers in Skaneateles, N.Y. Teasels are flower heads covered with stiff hooked prickles, used when dried for raising a nap on woolen fabrics. Letter is accompanied by an advertising brochure and price list dated May 14, 1875, from C.H. Gregory, dealer in American teasels, Skaneateles, N.Y.; and a letter dated May 15, 1875, from the office of J. McLaughlin & Son, Skaneateles, N.Y., growers and dealers in American teasels, giving a quote for teasels. Both letters are addressed to L.E. Schellhous

This collection spans from 1892-1987. The bulk of the collection contains records of customers' yearly fuel usage and price lists of coal and firewood, mostly from 1927-1959. The collection tallies the fuel usage for both individuals and companies within Barre, Vermont. The collection also includes blueprints sheds and equipment, as well as loose photographs and album photographs documenting the work of drivers and employees at the company headquarters and its surrounding yards and sheds. The collection also contains a small amount of Horace A. Richardson's legal and financial records, including stocks in Vermont companies and estate documents for his wife, Hester Richardson
