This collection began with the purchase of Willem Rudolf Juynboll's clippings collection, but was augmented in many ways and from several sources. Other major sources of material include the Duveen Collection, purchases from the Courtauld Institute, and an Alinari subscription. This assembled collection of photographs and clippings represents Italian paintings, drawings and prints of the 2nd through the 20th centuries through reproductions of the work of approximately 2,600 artists. The works of Fra Angelico, Giovanni Bellini, Botticelli, Agnolo Bronzino, Canaletto, Caravaggio, Correggio, Giotto, Giorgione, Francesco Guardi, Leonardo da Vinci, Lorenzo Lotto, Andrea Mantegna, Perugino, Piero della Francesca, Pinturicchio, Raphael, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Titian, and Veronese are well represented. The collection contains photographs and clippings from numerous sources including commercial vendors and photographers, auction houses and galleries, and scholars' archives and collections, including a collection of clippings from Dr. Willem Rudolf Juynboll and a collection of photographs from Duveen Brothers.
