The collection consists of a photo album containing 25 x 30 cm. black and white photographs of the Pacific Ocean, surf and shore, fishing, clam digging, and highways from Copalis Beach north to the Hoh River.
The papers of Edwin Chalcraft consist primarily of diaries and an autobiography, Memory's Storehouse, co-authored by Alice Chalcraft. The papers of William Pickering, Governor of Washington Territory and father of Alice Chalcraft, are chiefly correspondence and legal documents.
The maps in this collection are predominantly of the Pacific Northwest and, more particularly, of Washington State and are mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries, though the cronological scope extends back to the 16th century.
