Washington State Historical Society
The collection contains the records of the Pierce County Nurses Association from its incorporation until 2009. Although the organization began about 1904, the earliest meeting minutes in the collection are from November 8, 1910. The first line from that date refers to "minutes of the last meeting," evidence that at some point prior records existed. The minutes from 1910 to 1931 and 1944 to 1946 are in volume form. In the 1910 to 1923 volume, the record is identified simply as the minutes of a meeting of the association. The 1924-1931 volume contains minutes from a meeting of the Board of Directors. There are no minutes between 1931 and 1944. The volume from 1944 to 1946 differentiates between minutes from regular and board meetings. After that date, the record holds minutes from a variety of types of meetings including regular, board and committee. It may also include correspondence, reports or other types of working papers.
