Sea Tails is a six-monitor, three-channel, continuous loop video installation that brings together film footage taken by Molly Davies of underwater kite tails fabricated by Jackie Matisse Monnier, and an electronic score derived by David Tudor from tapes of underwater sea sounds. Davies filmed the kites off Nassau in the Bahamas in 1983, while Tudor simultaneously recorded the sounds. The piece consists of three different video tapes made from Davies' original film, each with a different sound track by David Tudor. Sea tails premiered at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in 1983. The piece was subsequently installed in Berlin, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Taiwan, Oakland, California, and New York
