This is a group nine mid-19th century lithographs showing illustrations of Philadelphia factories. The items show the following scenes. Two of them feature lively streetscapes: one showing the factory of Harrison & Newhall, commission merchants, importers, steam sugar refiner, and the other showing the establishment of Thomas Whiye & Company, manufacturer and wholesale dealer of straw goods. There is the Keystone Marble Works of S. F. Jacoby & Company; views include an exterior and interiors of the cutting room, polishing room, saw room, showroom. There are two lithographs showing different views of the Schuykill Falls laboratory of Powers & Weightman, manufacturing chemists. The remaining items show the Bridesburg Machine Works which produced textile machinery and the factory of Cornelius and Baker, manufacturers of lamps, gas fixtures, and chandeliers.
