Collection of pamphlets relating to socialism, many by William Morris. Includes a photocopy of a handwritten letter written by Emery Walker, Secretary of the East London Branch of the Socialist League, dated 27 November, 1890, in which he explains the reasons for the separation of the Branch from the League, the League tending more towards Anarchism and the Branch rationally opposed to that tendency. The Branch took the name 'Hammersmith Socialist Society' and included William Morris as its Treasurer and frequent speaker. Also includes a membership card designed by William Morris and signed (possibly autographed) with the names of William Morris and Emery Walker. Also an invitation card to Socialist League lectures, with a design by May Morris
