This collection consists of photograph albums, containing images of Norwich University students, activities and buildings from the late 1850s to early 20th century. Several albums consist entirely of portraits of the members of specific Norwich University classes, including the class of 1891 and the class of 1914. Others appear to be similarly centered around an individual fraternity or specific time frame. The creators of these albums are unknown and many of the photographs included are undated and unidentified. Copies of identified portraits within these photograph albums are also filed and accessible through the portrait series of the NU Photograph Collection. The work of local photographers Reuben McIntosh, Alonzo Harlow and Joseph Bullock is represented in the collection. Additionally, many images from photograph albums #10 and #11 also appear in the scrapbooks of Norwich students who attended in the 1910s and early 1920s. Two albums of photographs by Victor Ogawa. One documents a trip to Japan to visit family and sightsee. The other album documents airplanes and aviators, trips in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Ogawa called this album his "Collection book" because several of the photographs were sent to him from friends. The albums are extensively illustrated with drawings.
