The research emphasized discovering the meaning attached to archaeological sites by the presumed descendants of the land's original inhabitants. The collection is primarily correspondence pertaining to activities of the Society for Georgia Archaeology during the 1930s. James M. Mallory amassed much of the materials during his tenure as vice president for the Society. A significant portion of the correspondence relates to general administrative activities of the Society, however, there are several reports and surveys of archaeological sites throughout Georgia. Of special interest is the Fort Mountain folder, which includes correspondence from Ivan Allen detailing the stipulations of the gift to the state. In addition, the Moundville Park folder includes information pertaining to the National Park Service's involvement in the facility and the contributions made by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the construction of the park infrastructure

This collection consists of the Historic American Engineering Record/Historic Industrial Landscape Documentation (HAER/HILD) for the Elizabeth Mine Site in Strafford, Vermont. This documentation includes the technical report, the historical HAER narrative, black and white photographs and color slides of the landscape, and 11" x 17" HAER drawings (in MS Size B). These materials were prepared by the Public Archaeology Laboratory for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District as part of the Environmental Protection Agency's ongoing work to fulfill the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended
