Robert Kurka (1921-1957) was a composer best known for The Good Soldier Schweik (1956-1958), an orchestral suite which he expanded into an opera. He also wrote works for instrumental soloists, chamber groups, chorus, and orchestra. The Robert Kurka papers, dating from 1941 to 1982, hold scores, professional correspondence, clippings, books, and a professional journal.

The Marie Nelson Bennett papers (1939-2013) contain copies and originals of Bennett's work. It also contains a biography prepared by Bennett herself, giving detail about her work in general, as well as details about specific pieces of her work. Bennett received a Ph. D. in composition from the University of Utah. In 1995 she was nominated for the Kennedy Center Freidham award for orchestral composition and in 1996 she received a Merit of Honor from the University of Utah Emeritus Alumni Association.
