The collection is devoted to the musical works of women composers both published and unpublished. While predominately printed and manuscript music scores, it also contains some biographical information and correspondence. The core collection remains the Library of the ICWM and it continues to grow with subsequent donations. Over 300 composers are represented in the collection. The Library includes the collection of books and recordings gathered by Aaron I. Cohen, editor of the International Encyclopedia of Women Composers and the Library of the International Congress on Women in Music (ICWM)

Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library
Personal and professional papers, musical compositions, and published and unpublished writings provide a sampling of the many interests and activities of Marg-Riette Montgomery Hamlett -- Personal papers consist of miscellaneous correspondence, including several letters to and from Elli Moore Townsend, printed material, and clippings. Photographs include snapshots taken during the filming of the John Wayne Alamo motion picture at Brackettville. A small amount of material relates to her employment at the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library. Musical compositions consist of songs and hymns composed or adapted by Hamlett, with related copyright information, clippings and correspondence. Writings include published volumes and associated material, published articles, and unpublished manuscripts. The manuscripts include two novels set in San Antonio and reflecting Hamlett's interest in the role and status of women. A novella co-authored by Marie Coudsi Basila is also included
