Civil War and Grand Army of the Republic records of Company E, 2nd New York Heavy Artillery, in which a number of Gilbertsville residents served. Records include U.S. Army manuals, 1860-63; photographs of the members, many identified, c.1862-c.1865; a supplies record book, 1863-64; minute books, 1877-1925; and miscellaneous papers, c.1861-c.1920, including inventories, orders, muster rolls, and correspondence, and other items concerning reunions.
Collection also contains records of the W.A. Musson Post 223, G.A.R., Gilbertsville, including a minute book, 1900-1930, and a treasurer's book, 1910-22; a folder of correspondence of the Women's Relief Corps, G.A.R., 1901-1908; and a printed company roster of Company G, 152nd New York Volunteers (Otsego Rangers), mustered into service in 1862.
