Phonograph records of BGEA crusades and special programs -- BGEA recordings consist of messages by Billy Graham and Leighton Ford, music by George Beverly Shea, crusade choirs, various team members and musical guests. One album entitled OUR FAMILY FAVORITES contains personal message by Billy Graham and musical selections by several artists. Albums not related to the BGEA include messages by Don Hillis, Hubert Mitchell and Barry Moore. This collection is one of several which form the Records of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Evangelistic organization, founded in 1950 to: operate Billy Graham's ministry in a business-like way; provide a non-profit entity to receive donations for crusades and related ministries; plan and coordinate evangelistic meetings throughout the world; and with its agents and subsidiaries produce radio and television programs, films, DECISION magazine, and books and records. The BGEA was instrumental in: founding the magazine, CHRISTIANITY TODAY, and Wheaton College's Billy Graham Center; sponsoring a series of international and regional conferences on evangelism, beginning in 1966. Its headquarters was in Minneapolis, with offices in other US and foreign cities. Besides its work in evangelism, the BGEA or its subdidiaries, Grason Company and World Wide Pictures, published periodicals, phonograph records, audio tapes, and produced films and radio and television programs.
