Chandler was a traveling proprietor of Egyptian artifacts who sold the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Egyptian mummies and manuscripts from which Joseph Smith later wrote the Book of Abraham. This update is an in-depth genealogical account of Chandler, tracing his origins in Ireland and his descendants in America until about the 1940s. Thomas Milton Tinney was born on August 10, 1941, in Ohio. He is a professional genealogist who has been featured in Marquis Who's Who in the West (1998 and 1999) and Who's Who in America (2000-2004). His research papers form part of the Joseph Smith, Jr. Collection at the University of Utah, and a collection of his papers is located at the Utah State Historical Society.
