From the Ramon Sender archives located in the College Archive. Tape numbers are taken from the original tapes.
Heat (8:20) / Robert Ashley. Sender Archive, tape 24.
Awakening (21:30) / Bill Maginnis. Sender Archive, tape 1. Ramon Sender's notes: Made by beating a sine-wave oscillator against the record head bias frequency, and then slowed down. Very Tibetan. See CD25 for another version.
Ushas (14:23) / Ramon Sender. Sender Archive, tape 14, track 1. Ramon Sender's notes: Ushas ('dawn' in Sanskrit), Buchla Studio, 1968. I synthesized my heartbeat and breath rhythms with a sort of 'panpipe' oscillator melody.
Enoughing (4:02) / Ramon Sender. Sender Archive, tape 22. Ramon Sender's notes: Another Buchla session from 1969 . Enoughing is an actual seven minute piece.
Balances / Ramon Sender. Sender Archive, tape 38. Includes Ramon Sender talking, part of rehearsal, and performance (14:47) from May 14, 1963. For amplified 'prepared' string trio with string bass. Tape box reads: March 8, 1964. Recorded by M. Subotnick. One performance at Composer Forum with Charles Boone conducting.
Balances (5:58) / Ramon Sender. Sender Archive, tape 66. Notes on tape box: 2nd movement, May 1963. There is no counting so presumably this is a copy of the May 1963 unconducted version.
Transfer archivist, Maggi Payne.
