Chiefly corrrespondence relating to White's career as a newspaper editor, politician, and author; and to his personal life. Documents his work as editor of the Emporia Gazette, Emporia, Kansas; judge with the Book-of-the-Month Club; and regent of Kansas State University. Also documents his activities with the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Subjects include Kansas state and national politics, Theodore Roosevelt's campaign as Progressive Party nominee in the 1912 presidential campaign, White's campaign for governor of Kansas in 1924, and the Ku Klux Klan.
