Contains notes, outlines, and manuscripts relating to Essig's research on the history of entomology. Includes detailed diaries from his travels throughout the U.S., Europe, and North America during 1936-1937 and 1939-1943, as well as scrapbooks of picture postcards and other memorabilia from his travels in England, Belgium, and Holland in 1936-1937. Also includes a guest book, 1925-1948, and some correspondence, primarily a volume of letters of tribute sent to Essig on the occasion of his retirement, with a few replies sent by him.
Professor in the Dept. of Entomology and Parasitology, U.C. Berkeley. Retired on Sept. 24, 1954.
