The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) New Campus Center Competition Fonds contains 20 presentation panels which document projects proposed by 4 of 5 competition finalists (Eisenman Architects, Zaha Hadid, Helmut Jahn/Werner Sobek, and Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa/SANAA). The Fonds also contains 8 models, which document 3 proposed projects (Eisenman, Jahn/Sobek and Sejima/Nishizawa). The panels and models of the Fonds were presented at the IIT College of Architecture in Sept. 1997 at a symposium where the finalists' proposals were submitted to the public, and/or at the Art Institute of Chicago between May 1st and July 25th, 1998 in an exhibition entitled "A New Campus Center: The IIT Competition". The fonds does not include the panels and models of the winner of the competition, Rem Koolhaas.
The Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, was created in 1940 through the amalgamation of the Armour Institute of Technology and the Lewis Institute.
Consists of 8 models and 20 panels.
