In fulfilling responsibility as record keeper for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the state secretary maintained reports and accounts concerning the Treasury as follows: -- (1) returns of state property at Rainsford Island by the Boston Board of Health, 1819-1829 (2) statement of number of vessels and business done on the Weymouth and Braintree rivers, 1803-1805 (3) report of commissioners appointed to examine accounts of county treasurers, 1811-1812 (Resolves 1811, c 138) (4) ms. and printed statements of county receipts and expenditures for 1884 (some filed 1885) (5) returns of county treasurers to the state secretary, pursuant to Senate order of Feb. 13, 1874, of amounts paid to them by state constables from monies received for services in criminal cases, 1865-1871.
